Tropical storm making another Florida landfall |

Tropical Storm Fay was slowly moving across the northeast Florida coast today, making its third U.S. landfall and dumping 26 inches of rain in the Melbourne area to the south. Fay was stationary for much of the morning but began moving west and crossing the shoreline this afternoon, forecasters said.

Student shot at Tennessee school dies |

A student died today after being shot at Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, police said. Knoxville Police Chief Deputy Bill Roehl told reporters that the suspect, also a student, had been taken into police custody three blocks from the school. Roehl said police believe the shooting was intentional and the victim was selected.
