AP - Digital cameras have liberated awe-struck travelers and proud parents from worrying about the price of film processing. But showing off those megapixels of memories is still reminiscent of tedious living room slideshows — and perhaps now worse, because instead of one blurry photo of the Eiffel Tower or the high school musical, there might be 50.

NewsFactor - Researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University have announced the development of a camera based on the biological design of the human eye. While it won't make a 10-megapixel digital camera obsolete, it may be a huge breakthrough in bioengineering.

Kodak posts lower 2Q profit, revises outlook

AP - Eastman Kodak Co. said Thursday its second-quarter profit fell 14 percent as digital inkjet-printer investments and higher costs for raw materials offset a hefty tax settlement gain. It also warned that full-year operating earnings will come in at the lower end of its previous forecast, sending its already depressed stock down more than 7 percent.
